Bienvenidos, 2010!

During deep meditation it is possible to dispel time, to see simultaneously all the past, present and future, and then everything is good, everything is perfect, everything is Brahman. Therefore, it seems to me that everything that exists is good--death as well as life, sin as well as holiness, wisdom as well as folly. Everthing is necessary, everything needs only my agreement, my assent, my loving understanding; then all is well with me and nothing can harm me. I learned through my body and soul that it was necessary for me to sin, that I needed lust, that I had to strive for property and experience nausea and the depths of despair in order to learn not to resist them, in order to learn to love the world, and no longer compare it with some kind of desired imaginary world, some imaginary version of perfection, but to leave it as it is, to love it and be glad to belong to it. Name that...

Classy Austin restroom.

The DUDE & Austin

Did you know: Austin's new lounge/karaoke/bowling alley, The High
Ball, incorporated the actual wooden bowling alley that was used in
the film "The Big Lebowski." DUDE!?!!

Photos coming back from shoot...

We're getting some of the photos back from our recent shoot with Holly Bronko and they're smokin' cool.  Now SHE is the woman with the magic eye and quick finger.  More to come...

Avatar!

Just saw Avatar in 3D tonight and it's pretty amazing.  Extremely creative, beautiful cinematography, overall amazing execution.  The story hits too close to home to make you feel all warm & cozy, but there's enough redemption to keep you from running on the blade... James Cameron is the man.

Everything's in its right place

CD has been mastered and sounds completely amazing.  [Mastering is the final step in the long process of making an album.  The engineer uses fancy gear to make every track shine (EQ, compression, etc) and makes sure it will sound great start to finish on million dollar systems (we all wish we owned) and also through the crappy speakers on your alarm clock and through the weird MySpace algorithm and so on]
---
The artwork has been completed by none other than Alison Willis.  Cover below.  Looks beautiful & cool.
---
The manufacturer has everything they need so now we just wait a little bit and then, poof!  All the work & time & effort & love comes together at last.... I'm pretty excited about this, if you can't tell... more updates in a bit.

Bronko-nator Rawks!!

Yesterday's shoot was a massive success, thanks to the immense talent of Holly Bronko.  We ended up with the coolest shots and let's just say my previous career as a JUMP roper ended up serving us well... can't wait to share them with you all! I would absolutely also like to give a huge thanks to Shirley at W3ll People for doing a beautiful job on our make-up and to NAHA-winning stylist Shawna Parvin for making sure our hair looked awesome for every shot!  I'm posting a few more cell shots of the shoot...

Photoshoot

Hey, so we're going to do another photoshoot with Holly Bronko tomorrow. We're really excited because she's super talented and fun to work with +plus we are looking forward to having some new, updated images of the band!  I will share with you blog readers that I am unfortunately still sick with a mean virus and Rae has apparently just injured her eye. So it should be interesting (as most things are with Tribella).  In other news, the CD is set to be mastered this coming Wednesday, which is immensely exciting as well.  We've settled on a design and it's all shaping up nicely.  Stay tuned snow-goers... more news in a bit.

Straight Shot Home

We rolled out of New Orleans at 10:30am on July 1st and headed west for 9 hours until we reached Austin. Total miles: 6,169. Thank you to everyone we met along the way, friends, family, and new folks. We had an amazingly successful & fun tour and it is 99% thanks to you.

Stay tuned as we will continue to update our blog with all-things-Tribella.

Sarah & Jake

Thank you guys so much for putting us up and putting up with us! We can't wait to make it back to New Orleans very soon...

Nawlins Rockin'

When Good Folks & Stars Align

Provided that, despite our best efforts, we were unable to find a fill-in New Orleans band, we were faced with either (1) canceling our last show of the tour (NO WAY!) or (2) looking for a venue that might have an open slot for us to play. 2 hour window? No problem, we can do it. Without delving into the finer details, we were offered an hour slot at Checkpoint Charlie's Pub. Local musician, Ruby Rendrag, was playing that night and was kind enough to work this out for us. Thanks also to Angelo, the super nice bartender! We ended up having a great show and really appreciate everyone who came out to hear us. Couldn't have asked for a better finale to this amazing tour...

When Good Guys do Bad Things

We woke up, stretched, yawned, put some creamer in our coffee, checked the email, and ba-bam! The Good Guys (New Orleans band we were sharing bill with at HiHo) wrote us to say they were sorry but that they would have to cancel. We were feeling like nothing could stop us after the Oxford electricity debacle so, you know, no big, we were up to the task of finding a fill-in band for a show that would start in 10 hours.
